RC Deportivo face their final 10 games of the season with survival on the horizon. The Galicians are on a barren run of five games without a win and will be looking to turn a corner against Espanyol so they can give their home fans something to cheer about.

Team news

Deportivo will be without Isaac Cuenca, Haris Medunjanin, Cezary Wilk, Laureano Sanabria 'Laure', Roberto Canella, Borja López and Hélder Postiga. Meanwhile, Espanyol players Sergio García and Abraham González are absent due to injury.

View from the dugouts

Deportivo coach Víctor Fernández analysed his team’s situation and what taking all the points would mean for his side: "If we get the victory we’re not going to clinch salvation immediately, but of course now is a very good time for us to get a win."

Sergio González, the Espanyol coach, returns to the stadium where he spent nine seasons as a Deportivo coach. The young tactician said that Riazor is "a magical stadium" and also analysed his side’s opponents: "They are mobile in attack and that means they can open up gaps at the back. We have to try and recover our identity and try to take advantage of that."
