Liga BBVA matchday 17 will be brought to a close by another Andalusian derby, as Córdoba CF host Granada CF in the Nuevo Arcángel. Both sides are in the relegation zone and a win against a direct rival will provide a stepping stone towards salvation.

Iago Bouzón is the most significant absentee for the side managed by Miroslav Djukić, who lost in the Camp Nou immediately before the Christmas break. Íñigo López and Luso Delgado will also be missing from the pitch. For the visitors, Manuel Iturra will miss the game through suspension while Rubén Rochina, Jeison Murillo and Darwin Machís are sidelined through injury.

"We're running out of time and you have to win matches to get out of the relegation zone", said Djukić of his team's clash with Granada. Meanwhile, Joaquín Caparrós, the visiting manager, is aware of his side's need and told the media: "We have to play with intensity and confidence and have that bit of luck that evaded us last year".
