Atlético Madrid go into the 19th round of matches in great spirits after knocking out Real Madrid of the last 16 of the Copa del Rey, something which will have allowed Diego Simeone’s men to forget about their defeat last time out in Liga BBVA to Barcelona (3-1).
Granada, meanwhile, start the post Joaquín Caparrós era bottom of the table with 14 points, and they will be looking to shock the Calderón as they aim for what would be their third win of the season.
Team news
Cani and Cristián Rodríguez, alongside injured duo Cristian Ansaldi and Tiago, are out of the tie. Meanwhile the visitors are without several injured players including Luís Martins, Sulayman, Jhon Córdoba, Rochina and Jeison Murillo.

In his pre-match press conference, Simeone showed respect to his opponents on Sunday: “They will come looking to use their pace on the attack with Sissoko and Lass, in addition to Piti’s qualities. We have to play the game in the way we want to and make sure we play with a good intensity”.
Granada boss Joseba Aguado said this experience is something he is “treasuring and that is something I’ve transmitted to the players, who need to play with a sense of risk, and we need to go with all the desire in the world. We have little to lose and a lot to gain”.
