RC Celta and Atlético Madrid will close out Sunday’s games in the Liga BBVA with a high energy encounter at the Balaídos stadium. The Vigo outfit have a two match unbeaten run, so they will be hoping to stay strong, this time at home, in order to move closer to eighth place. They will face an Atlético side who have really started to perform and have taken twelve points from their last 15 games.

Squads

Celta go into the game with injuries to Hugo Mallo and Borja Oubiña, whilst Levy Madinda and David Costas have been left out of the squad due to a coaching decision. Atlético will be without Koke, Arda Turan and Raúl García, three of their key midfield players. The reserve keeper, Carlos Marín, is the major new addition to the squad list provided by Diego Pablo Simeone.

Thoughts of the coaches

The home coach knows that his players must have a perfect game in order to win and he had this to say in the press conference: “Atlético will force us to play at our best”. Meanwhile, Simeone made no excuses for having injuries players and called on the “group” to win the game against the Galician side.
