In Matchday 14, Rayo Vallecano and Sevilla FC got the Sunday action underway in LA Liga BBVA. A goal from Colombian Carlos Bacca decided the match.

It was a subdued start, Unai Emery’s Sevilla side pressing high up the pitch and hemming Rayo back. After eight minutes, Carlos Bacca nicked the ball off a hesitant Rayo defender and scored. Sevilla then eased off, content to keep Rayo at bay for the remainder of an uneventful first half.

Rayo came out stronger in the second half, and carved out good opportunities for Alberto Bueno and Vitolo, who nonetheless both failed to score. Manucho was brought on as a sub, and added further impetus to the Rayo attack. The game opened up in the final twenty minutes, particularly after Sevilla went down to ten men. Sevilla managed to hang on though, and remain fourth in the table, with Rayo, for the time being, in tenth.
