Real Sociedad visit the Calderón in rich form

Atlético de Madrid host Real Sociedad on matchday 30 in the Liga BBVA. The Madrid side go into the game after recovering third place, while the Basque side head to the Estadio Vicente Calderón in a rich vein of form, after taking 10 points from their last four matches.

Team news

For this game Real Sociedad will be without central defenders Jon Ansotegui and Iñigo Martínez due to suspension, while Atlético de Madrid have to make do without experienced full-back Juanfran Torres, who is also suspended. Meanwhile, Mario Mandžukić has been left out of the squad through injury.

David Moyes said his side are up against "one of the best teams in the league, but that does not mean we’re not going to the game with every intention of getting the three points". Diego Simeone has said his objective is to "conserve third place" and he recognised his team’s performance in the same fixture earlier this season, which his side lost 2-1: "We were a man down but we still competed at a very high level".
