Matchday 28 in the Liga BBVA pits two attractive teams against each other, with Rayo Vallecano hosting Málaga CF in the Estadio de Vallecas. Both sides put their faith in stylish football and little by little are closing in on their objectives. Paco Jémez’s side want to secure survival as soon as possible, while Javi Gracia's men see European football on the horizon and want to qualify for the Europa League.
Team news
Rayo goalkeeper Toño is still recovering from a muscle injury but Paco Jémez has the rest of his entire squad available, including Alberto Bueno, who last week wrote himself into Rayo’s history books by becoming the club’s top scorer in the Liga BBVA. Meanwhile Málaga welcome back striker Javi Guerra and defender Sergio Sánchez after prolonged absences.

Paco Jémez was adamant that he wanted to see his side "play at their very best” against the Andalusian side, who he praised as "a top team that have been very consistent over the course of the season". Javi Gracia meanwhile said he believes this game will be different from the fixture at La Rosaleda earlier this season, which his side won 4-0, insisting his side “will have to defend well and attack in the space we get afforded".
