Sevilla FC and SD Eibar drew 0-0 on matchday 15 of the Liga BBVA. The shared spoils leave the home side in fourth place, while Gaizka Garitano's men now have 20 points in the league.
Neither team managed to control the game in a very evenly matched first half. José Antonio Reyes and Éver Banega were the men who caused the most trouble for the Armeros defence, but neither side was successful in front of goal. The visitors were firm in defence and were quick to counter-attack, also creating some good chances. The best fell to Derek Boateng, with a powerful strike from in front of the area, but Beto was alert to it and made the best save of the encounter.
After the break, Sevilla took the initiative and had several attempts on Xabi Irureta’s goal. But the Basque side’s defence was solid again, thwarting the attacks of Carlos Bacca, Denis Suárez and Gerard Deulofeu, who came on to shake things up in the second half. The scoreline remained on 0-0 until the final whistle, further strengthening the reputation of Gaizka Garitano’s side in the Liga BBVA.
