Nothing between the sides in the Nuevo Los Cármenes

Granada CF and SD Eibar finished all square after their Liga BBVA matchday 28 fixture. The draw keeps Abel Resino’s players rooted to nineteenth on 23 points, while Gaizka Garitano’s team are fourteenth on 28 points for the time being, with Elche CF able to overtake them should they get three points on Sunday.

Neither side took too many risks during the first half. However, as the minutes ticked by, Granada began to bear down on the visitors’ goal. Adrián Colunga had the first clear-cut chance when, in the 18th minute, he launched a left-footed strike from just outside the corner of the box, but his effort grazed past the Eibar left post. The Basque side defended deep and looked to catch the Andalusians on the break, however, they failed to cause too much panic at the other end in the first end.

Eibar looked livelier after the break and began to make an impact on the game. Their best goal-scoring opportunity came in the 60th minute when Javi Lara crossed superbly to set up Eneko Bóveda with a header that looked certain to be the opener, however, Olazábal pulled off a great save to put the ball out for a corner. The home side shook off the Eibar pressure towards the end of the match but it was 0-0 at full time.
