Liga BBVA matchday six got underway in the Estadio Martínez Valero. Elche CF were hosting RC Celta, who came into the match unbeaten and high on confidence after a win in the derby. Despite the fact that Elche had more chances to seal the three points, there were unable to finish the job and in the 89th minute Nolito scored the winner for the Celestes.

It was deadlock in the first half and neither of the teams was playing free-flowing football. On the verge of half-time Nolito and Fabián Orellana connected with a great move that Manu Herrera brought to an end. In the second half both teams stepped up a gear, resulting in more chances on goal. The first was created by the visitors: the Nolito-Orellana duo worked to near perfection, however, the Chilean failed to make a solid connection with the ball.
When the clock read 61 Sergio Álvarez kept out the opener. His teammate Andreu Fontás' botched clearance hit the crossbar and only the Galician keeper’s hand prevented it from crossing the line.

Despite the fact that Celta had more possession, the home team, on the counter, generated more danger. Jonathas de Jesús won the ball back and Víctor Rodríguez provided the cross, however, Coro and then Jonathas both failed to find the target for Elche.

It was a sensational pass from Krohn-Dehli that gave Nolito the chance to finally break the deadlock and make it 0-1, scoring in his third match on the trot after goals against RC Deportivo de La Coruña and Club Atlético de Madrid.
