The Sunday of matchday 15 gets underway with a clash between RCD Espanyol and Granada CF, and guaranteed emotion. The Andalucians, in 16th and only two points behind the Catalans, arrive at the Power8 stadium badly needing to break a run of ten matches without a win. The home side, for their part, need to bounce back after a crushing 5-1 loss to local rivals Barcelona last time out.
Team news
Sergio González has a full squad to face a team who, in contrast, have a slew of injuries: Sulayman Marreh, Darwin Machís, Riki and Rubén Rochina are all out, not to mention the suspended Dimitri Foulquier.
Views from the dugout
"We get a real boost from playing at home," said Sergio González. "If we can play at our level, that's all the fans want to see. And if we don’t, seeing the form Granada are in, we'll be in trouble. But if we play at our level, I'm 100% confident we’ll get a result."
The vising coach Joaquín Caparrós also sounded a note of caution: "Espanyol are finding their way under their new coach, and they're definitely improving. They've got proven scorers up front, and they've mostly been winning of late."
