Madrid Stick to the Script

Matchday 8 and another three points for Real Madrid after they travelled to Levante and won 0-5. The goals came from Cristiano Ronaldo, who scored a brace, and one apiece from Javier 'Chicharito' Hernández, James Rodríguez and Isco Alarcón.

The Granotas struggled to deal with the White's direct attacking play in the opening exchanges. Cristiano had two clear chances in the opening ten minutes, and when the third offered itself up, from the penalty spot, he made it count. Soon after, for all Levante's attempts to stay resolute in defence, Chicharito popped up, after good combination play with James Rodríguez, to make it 0-2.

In the second half, José Luis Mendilibar's side stayed compact to try and keep Madrid from stretching their lead. But the Whites found a way through, with another goal for Cristiano, laid on by Isco. Almost straightaway, four minutes later, Toni Kroos found James in space in the area, and the Colombian made it four. Another drubbing by the Whites, and a spur for their upcoming match against Barcelona.
