UD Las Palmas remain top of the Liga Adelante following their 1-2 victory over Valladolid CF. The Canary Islands side now have 29 points, while the Pucelanos fall to fourth with 26 points.
The first half was hotly contested, with the two teams taking turns to control the game. After a great chance for Las Palmas, saved by Javi Varas, the Pucelanos finally scored. Jeffrén Suárez led a counter-attack and provided the assist so that Óscar Díaz could make it 1-0.
Paco Herrera's men returned from the break aiming to equalise as quickly as possible. In the early stages of the second half they had the all possession, which did not prevent Valladolid from creating danger in the opposition box. The persistence of the Canary Islands team reaped its reward in the 62nd minute when Jerónimo 'Momo' Figueroa scored the equaliser from the penalty spot.
Sergio Araujo, Las Palmas' top scorer, provided the assist for Vicente Gómez to make it 1-2 and complete the Yellows' comeback, a victory that consolidates the club’s lead after being level on points with their opponents Valladolid.
