Real Madrid and Real Sociedad kick off Saturday's matches in the Liga BBVA with a match that puts the league leaders against the team in 12th place in the table. Madrid have won the last three matches between the two sides at the Santiago Bernabéu, while la Real have only won three of their 67 visits to the famous old stadium.

Team News

There is a new face on Carlo Ancelotti’s squad list - midfielder Lucas Silva, recently signed from Cruzeiro. Isco Alarcón also returns to the side after missing the 2-1 win at Córdoba CF owing to a muscle strain. Cristiano Ronaldo is unavailable due to suspension, while Luka Luka Modrić and Pepe miss out due to injury. Meanwhile, Carlos Martínez and David Zurutuza have been left out of David Moyes’19-man squad for the game, and the Scot will leave one more player out of the squad before the game.

View from the dugout

Carlo Ancelotti, Real Madrid: "We need to play with more intensity than we did in Córdoba, with more pressure in defence and we cannot afford them much space".

David Moyes, Real Sociedad: "We know that it will be a difficult game, but why shouldn’t we think that we can win. You should always have faith in your team, and I’m going to tell my players that I expect them to do everything they can to win the game".
