FC Barcelona and Rayo Vallecano meet on matchday 26 in the Liga BBVA. After Real Madrid’s 1-0 defeat to Athletic Club in San Mamés, the Blaugranes have a golden opportunity to go top of the table on Sunday. To do that, they will have to see off a Rayo Vallecano side that produced their best performance of the season last week to beat Levante 4-2.

Team news

The hosts will have to do without key personnel, as midfielder Sergio Busquets is injured and striker Neymar Junior is suspended. Rayo meanwhile will be without goalkeeper Toño and midfielder Mohamed Fatau due to injury, while Ze Castro and Raúl Baena are suspended. However, Javier Aquino and Emiliano Insua return for Paco Jemez’s side.

Barça coachLuis Enrique spoke about the danger that the Madrid side pose his team: "All opponents are difficult for their own reasons, but Rayo Vallecano are one of the teams with the most character in the league. They are one of the few rivals who can seriously challenge us for the possession of the ball. We are really looking forward to the game".

His opposite number Paco Jémez insists his side will show no fear at Camp Nou. "We have to interpret the game well and the only way to win is to show that we are better than FC Barcelona, no matter how difficult that might be. The plan is to go there with no complexes, to enjoy ourselves and to compete", said the Rayo coach.
