FC Barcelona don't let up against Almería

New boss Sergi Barjuan was unable to mark his debut with a win. FC Barcelona downed Almería 4-0 on Wednesday in matchday 30 of Liga BBVA. The Catalan outfit now have 74 points, while the Andalusian side remain near the foot of the table.  

Almería had the game's first opportunity, however Claudio Bravo was able to deal with the effort easily. The visitors were able to keep the home side at bay for 33 minutes, however following a Xavi effort from distance, and then a Luis Suárez shot, Lionel Messi broke the deadlock, leaving keeper Julián Cuesta with no chance. From then on in it was the home side who took the initiative before half time, while Almería fought to get back into the game.

After the restart, Barjuan's side tried to get back into the game, however the second period followed a similar pattern to the first, and with Almería looking dangerous, Barcelona were the side who managed to get the goal. This time it was a Luis Suárez effort into the corner. Marc Bartra made it 3-0 from a corner, while Suárez scored his second and his side’s fourth in added time.
