Eibar put the new Getafe to test

SD Eibar and Getafe CF square off in the Municipal de Ipurua, in the match that will bring Saturday's Liga BBVA play to a close. The Basque side's positive start to their first season in the Spanish topflight has them six points above a Getafe who now have Quique Sánchez Flores back in their dugout a decade after he left.

The team Gaizka Garitano plays on Saturday will not include Didac Vila, who is suffering from the flu, or Jaime Jiménez, who is to undergo surgery on a back problem next week. Lafita, Babá and Guaita, all of whom are injured, and Lacen, who is playing in the African Cup of Nations, will not be there for Getafe. Also, Sergio Escudero will be a doubt until the last minute.

Eibar's Basque manager, Gaizka Garitano, is aware of the importance of a good performance against Getafe: "We either play well and forget the cushion of points or we'll lose".

"They're going to be a very tough team, the things they do, they do very well, and that makes them more dangerous. It is an extraordinary side", said Quique Sánchez Flores of his first opponent with the Azulones this season.
