The Liga BBVA returns following the international break with a game between SC Eibar and Rayo Vallecano, with the two teams coming face to face in the Spanish topflight for matchday 29. The home side have 28 points and lie 14th in the table, while the Madrid outfit are on 35 points and in 11th place.
Team news
Gaizka Garitano will be without the injured Ángel Rodríguez for this encounter, while there will be uncertainties surrounding Raúl Navas and Manu del Moral until just before the game. Meanwhile, his counterpart in the opposite dugout, Paco Jémez, will have to make do without Antonio Amaya and Roberto Trashorras, both of whom are suspended for this encounter, as well as the injured Léo Baptistão. Venezuelan striker Miku Fedor will make it into the Madrid side’s team sheet for the first time following his arrival to the club during the winter transfer window.
Thoughts from the dugouts
In his pre-match press conference, Gaizka Garitano praised his team’s upcoming opponents by saying "Rayo Vallecano are an example to aspire to, and are also looking very strong at the moment". Meanwhile, Paco Jémez stated that his team are "in great form and having 35 points at this stage of the season is an enormous feat".
