On a run of four wins and a draw, Villarreal will see out the year taking on RC Deportivo. They are teams in very different situations, with the Galicians one point above the relegation zone and the Yellows in the Europa League spots.

For Villarreal, Mateo Musacchio, Cani, Bojan Jokić and Hernán Pérez are out injured. For the Galician side, Portuguese left back Luis Carlos 'Luisinho' Correia will miss the clash through suspension.
Views from the dugout
Marcelino García Toral was cautious after their latest victory in the Liga BBVA: "Going into the game off the back of beating Atlético de Madrid doesn’t give us a better chance of beating Deportivo. We'll have to fight hard because Deportivo will demand it of us".
His counterpart in the opposition dugout, Luis Fernández, praised Villarreal's game: "For me they’re one of the most attractive teams in the Liga, with a lot of talent on the field, plus they compete well and don’t concede many goals".
