Deportivo and Espanyol do not make the most of their opportunities

RC Deportivo and RCD Espanyol drew 0-0 in the first Sunday game of matchday 28 of the Liga BBVA. With the result, the Galicians go up to 16th with 26 points; in turn, the Catalans fall to 11th with 34 points.

There were two very different sides to the first half, since despite the fact that Deportivo had control of the ball, it was Espanyol who had the clearest chances. The goalkeeper Fabricio Agosto was the star player for the Galician side, as he got a good hand to a shot that José Alberto Cañas hit from the edge of the area and also came out best in a one-on-one against Salva Sevilla. As for Deportivo, Ivan Cavaleiro had the best chance with a shot that was stopped by Kiko Casilla.

It was Cavaleiro who had another great opportunity to give Deportivo the win in the second half, after receiving a precise pass from Celso Borges and trying his luck inside the area. His attempt, however, was once again saved by Kiko Casilla. Likewise, Javi López came very close to handing victory to Espanyol with a header in the dying moments of the game that hit the bar and bounced on the goal line. Finally, despite the efforts of both teams to break the deadlock, the match ended with goals.
