El Madrigal is the venue for today’s regional derby between Villarreal CF and Levante UD. The Castellón side head into this fixture in the middle of an incredible streak of form; they lie sixth and have picked up points from all of their last nine games. Things could not be any more different for Levante, who find themselves second from bottom following a run of seven games without a win.
Team news
Villarreal will be without the suspended Denis Cheryshev and the injured Bojan Jokić for this match. Meanwhile, David Navarro (suspended) and Pape Diop (representing Senegal at the African Cup of Nations) are unavailable for Levante.

"Every home game is massively important. We want to stay in the upper end of the table and need to win in order to achieve that. Levante are going through a complicated period and are sure to make things difficult for us", mused the home side’s manager, Marcelino García Toral.
"This is a very tough fixture, we have to be at our best and believe that we can win. I always feel that any game can be won. In football, as long as you play well you can always get good results", explained Lucas Alcaraz, the Valencian team’s boss.
