RCD Espanyol and RC Celta meet this Saturday on matchday 19 of the Liga BBVA. The Galicians visit the Power8 Stadium hoping to put an end to a negative run of results that has seen them go eight matchdays without tasting triumph. And it won’t prove an easy task against a Catalan outfit that go into the encounter having boosted morale by seeing off Valencia CF and clinching qualification for the Copa del Rey quarter-finals.

Team news
Espanyol coach Sergio González welcomes back Lucas Vázquez, Salva Sevilla and Víctor Álvarez, while he has opted to leave Álex Fernández, Julián Luque and Joan Jordán off his squad list. For the visitors, the injured Hugo Mallo and the suspended Charles Dias are the chief absentees.

Views from the dugout
Sergio González had words of praise for his side’s opponents in his pre-match press conference. "They’re a good team; they control the ball well, have a lot of possession and like to create dangerous situations. We always expect our opponents to be at their best and I hope Celta aren’t on top form tomorrow; what’s important is that we are at our best and get a good result," he said.

Meanwhile, Celta boss Eduardo Berizzo also warned of the dangers of his team’s rivals: "Espanyol are a side who produce very good play in attack, drawing on the intelligent movement of their forward Sergio García. They’re an aggressive team who move as a unit, and they come into the match having beaten Valencia in the Copa."
