Bruno Soriano out for a number of weeks

The Villarreal CF captain, Bruno Soriano, suffered a distal third fibula fracture in his right leg. According to the club’s medical staff, who confirmed this news, the midfielder will be out for a number of weeks.

The injury occurred during the Copa del Rey semi-final first leg clash against FC Barcelona, and the period of time he will be sidelined for has yet to be announced, as his recovery needs to be monitored.

Bruno Soriano had been one of the key figures for Marcelino García Toral, having played 21 of the team’s 22 games this season and, alongside Sergio Asenjo, had racked up the most amount of playing time.
