A Madrid derby between Getafe CF and Real Madrid CF opens up Sunday’s fixtures on matchday 19 of the Liga BBVA. A clash in which the two teams, some distance apart in the table but both on inconsistent runs, will fight for victory to get back to winning ways.
Team news
The bad news for Quique Sánchez Flores is that he will need to cover key men in different positions. None of Vicente Guaita, long-term injury absentee Ángel Lafita, Mehdi Lacen, who is at the Africa Cup of Nations, or Papa Babacar ‘Babá’ will be available. For Real Madrid, of particular note are the absences of Pepe, Fábio Coentrão, Álvaro Arbeloa and Luka Modrić.

The Getafe coach faces los blancos once more and is full of enthusiasm going into the clash. "We’re fresh from a win in the Copa at home and we want to do the same in this game. We’re up for it," he insisted in the build-up. Carlo Ancelotti declared that his team are focusing on the Liga BBVA after cup elimination: "We’re out to fight hard and, above all, we want to protect top spot."
