An evening of goals at the Calderón

Three more points for Atlético Madrid who, in the 10th round of Liga BBVA, secured a 4-2 win over Córdoba CF at the Vicente Calderón. The visitors were not at their best, however Nabil Ghilas did manage to beat Miguel Ángel Moyá on two occasions.

The Rojiblancos dominated the opening 45, however it was the Andalusian outfit who almost went ahead on the counter, Xisco Jiménez and Ghilas combining but not finding the back of the net. It was Diego Simeone’s men who eventually went ahead following an own goal from Luis Delgado 'Luso'. 

The second half saw Córdoba draw level early on. Ghilas gave the visitors hope, and blew open the game. The side from the capital were fired up and crated a number of chances in front of Juan Carlos’s goal, making it 2-1 shortly after: Antoine Griezmann nodding home his first Liga BBVA goal for his new club.

The next to score was Mario Mandžukić, who headed in a Koke cross, before Raúl García made it four after another Koke delivery. Despite Ghilas cutting the deficit three minutes from time, Miroslav Đukić’s men will have to wait at least another week before they can celebrate their first win in the league this season.
