UD Almería and Real Sociedad did no harm to one another on matchday 23 of La Liga with a 2-2 draw. The San Sebastian side had to play catch up throughout the game against an Almería side who could not hold on to their leads.
It was a great first half between Almería and Real Sociedad. The Andalusian side took the lead after five minutes through Verza, who put away a penalty won following a foul on Thievy Bifouma. However, Real knew how to respond to the goal and drew level on the half-hour mark thanks to a great header by Imanol Agirretxe, that gave the Basque side hope. With the match even, Thievy began to make his presence felt, he was very active in the first half and Tomar Hemed took advantage of his play to give his side their second goal before half time.
Only two minutes after the restart, some good individual play from Sergio Canales led to the equalizer. Despite the best efforts of both sides to tilt the game in their favour, the goal was to be the last of the game. The result means that Almería continue their run of good form, they have gone three games without a defeat whilst Real Sociedad remain in the middle of the table on 24 points.
