Elche CF and UD Almería go head to head at the Estadio Martínez Valero in matchday 26 of Liga BBVA. Both sides need the points given they sit just two points above the relegation zone. The home side have taken seven from their last 12 points available, while Almería have taken eight from the last 15, breathing life into both of their seasons.

Team news

Elche will be without the injured Sergio Pelegrín at centre back, while Pedro Mosquera will also be absent in midfield, despite the fact he has received the medical green light following a knee operation in December.  The side's top scorer, Jonathas de Jesús, is also a doubt. Almería, meanwhile, have Édgar Méndez, Thievy and Míchel Macedo suspended, meanwhile Rubén Martínez misses out through injury.

View from the dugout

Elche boss Fran Escribá said the game was key "not only for the importance of the points, but also for head-to-head". He also said it is an "even" game, that he considers to be "a final" for both clubs. His counterpart at Almería, Juan Ignacio Martínez, said that his side have no margin for error: "The points that you don't win now can't be recouped because we're not at the start of the season".
