SÁB 04.04.2015

Bottom side Córdoba CF host Atlético Madrid this weekend on matchday 29 in the Liga BBVA. The two sides have very different objectives: the Andalusians will be desperate to pick up points so they can move away from the bottom spot and stay in the Liga BBVA for another season, while Atlético are hoping to regain third place from Valencia CF, who lead the league champions by a point.

Team news

The hosts welcome back José Ángel Crespo, Nabil Ghilas and Edimar Fraga from injury, while Atlético are boosted by the return of Saul Ñíguez after a seven week lay-off and his coach Diego Simeone has confirmed he will be start the match. Atlético defender Joao Miranda is suspended, while Raúl García, Miguel Ángel Moyà and Cristian Ansaldi and Raúl Jiménez have not made the list.

View from the dugout

José Antonio Romero, the Córdoba coach, said he wants his team to play "with a lot of caution when passing the ball and focusing our attention on precise passing". He also praised his side's opponents: "They have a lot of spirit and a lot of confidence, and are a very organised side."

Diego Simeone highlighted the importance of the match, with just 10 games left of the season: "There are 10 finals remaining in the Liga and we need to approach them like finals. Words matter little at this stage of the season, what matters much more is what happens on the pitch, how well we play and what results we get."
