Marcelino, the Villarreal coach, will be without Bruno Soriano and Bojan Jokić due to injury, as well as Denis Dmítrievich Chéryshev due to a clause in his contract that does not allow him to play against Real Madrid. As for the Whites, Ancelotti will not be able to field Sergio Ramos, Sami Kedhira, James Rodríguez and Luka Modrić due to injuries.

Ahead of the game, the Italian coach has pointed out that they face a side who “are working well and improving the level of Spanish football”. Marcelino, his opposite number in the dugouts, confirmed in the press conference that “not all of the players who achieved qualification against Redbull Salzburg would play in the Bernabéu".
